Should I straighten my hair?

Last year in August I got a perm that was $100.

My hair is medium length with bangs.

I've had the same hairstyle everyday for the past 5 months and I really want a change.

So, if I straighten my hair tomorrow will a lot of the curl come out?

I'll be using a chi.

Any other tips for straightening?

I'll just be spending like 10 mins doing it, not going over every piece like 5 times.

I've never had experience with a perm, but I don't think it'll really affect your hair that much. You know how girls with really curly hair can straighten their hair one day and the next day it'll be just as curly? I think that's what might happen with you... I'm not sure though. Maybe you can talk to your hairstylist about it...

I know someone with a perm who straighten their hair... because their hair was straight before the perm it came out a little but not too much... nothing really noticeable...

however instead of straightening it I would suggest (to be safe) blow drying it out with a round brush.

Yes, you can straighten your hair after getting a perm. Make sure your hair is in good condition-use a hot oil reconstruction treatment such as cholesterol the day prior to straightening. Afterwards, you will need to keep it in good condition, too. Make sure you use a good shampoo and daily conditioner. If you cannot afford to buy one in a salon or supply house, try a leave-in conditioner such as Infusium 23. You might also try waiting a week or so, often people don't like their perms because they are so different than the hair they are used to. Waiting will give the perm time to relax and give you time to get used to your new look.
