Sometimes when I listen to one of my favorite songs or a song that has a beautiful and catchy bridge or interlude in it, I get chills that run through my whole body, I get goosebumps and the hair on my neck and head feel like they're standing up. It only happens when I hear a very beautiful musical phrase. For example: 311's interlude in their song "Mindspin" or my most favorite classical piece, "Clair De Lune" by Claude DeBussy. Why do I get chills when I hear a very beautiful song?

Whenever you listen to your favourite tunes or something which means a lot to you (someone praises you),feel-good hormones ( i think it is called seratonin) are released. They probably cause the associated chills and goosebumps.

My guess is that it's your body reacting to the music touching you. I don't really know what's happening but it happens to me too. Especially Music of the Night on the Phantom of the Opera CD!!!!!!! and many other songs. : )
