My hair is not silky anymore!?

I color my hair, lately it's been so damaged, I cut it and changed the dye to shampoo coloring, however its' still like a wool and not smooth and silky like it was before. I would like to have the smooth and silky separated hairs than the wool like one whole, muddy like, piece. I changed my shampoo from the professional speciall for colored hair, used the Newtregina anti-resedue shampoo, it's a bit better but not that much. I really appreciate your input.

Get yourself some old fashion and cheap VO5. Glob it on and wrap it in a towel over night. In the morning it might take twice shampooings to get it out, but that always works for me.
