How do I cut my track of hair to fit into my hair?

I went to salley beauty and bought hair extensions, clips and thread. But I'm unsure on to figure out how to cut the track, and where it should be placed, I know you do longer ones in the back, but how many cut pieces on average should I make, and where are good places to put them to make them look natural?

You need to first part your hair where the track is going to be placed. Then you take the track and measure it along side of the part. then you cut where your part ends.
