Piece of **** clairol....ahh i have dark blonde hair i wanted to dye a chestnut brown the box color was pretty. i left it on a couple minutes longer than the said 20 because my hair never takes color. im going to get my haircut in 20 minutes, my salonist will KILL me and she can't fix it she doesn't have time she barely fit me in for a cut. i've got to go home for thanksgiving today, my mom is going to flip her ****. i'm trying to look good since my boyfriend broke up with me ahh. it's jet black not even brown BLACK and my skin tone and eyebrows it looks terrible! it's said to be permanent, what can i do?!

Do not put another color on it! Tell your stylist everything you have done and what products you have used. Stripping dark hair dye off of light hair is extremely tough and if you do more stuff to it, it's just going to make it tougher.

The best thing you can do is let an experienced stylist/colorist fix this problem. Beg your stylist if you must but please don't do anything else to it!

try bleaching your hair or you can find a really light brown and redye it

Use baby shampoo to try to strip some of the color, and then put another coloring on top - a lighter brown. I dyed my hair a weird color once, and that's what a stylist said to do. Clarol Nice and Easy Medium Brown - or something like that. just to get a tolerable base!! Good luck!!

call your salonist, tell her EVRYTHING (don't leave out details) and see what she can do. it might fade (a little). don't worry, i'm sure everything will turn out. :) now quick, call the salon!

or wait cause black falls out kinda quickly over blonde when you wash it ,However it would prb take afew weeks to lighten

The only thing you can do is wash your hair with shampoo right now!!! The color will fade drastically and hopefully you can re-dye over it! Good Luck!

The only think i can think of is to keep washing it until the dye fades. My sister (although her hair is brown anyway) dyed her hair a darker brown and it also turned out black too. But after a few washes it looked brown. So just get in the shower and wash it, maybe twice a day to help it fade faster. Or if worse comes to worse you could go to hairdresser and they will fix it for you.

ps permanant hair colour isnt really that permanant as it fades after every wash

go get some blonde highlighs or brown highlights. pull your hair through the cap (if there's on in the box) or comb it through your hair. This will add color contrast and not look as harsh as you are explaining. It will lighten it up and you can do a little of the hair or a lot. It's up to you. Or maybe your stylist will have a shampoo there that will help when you go get it cut.
