Why do we have hair there.....?

I am asking this in a serious manner.... why were people created with hair around their more intimate areas (vagina, penis, and anus). At least men can keep their penis away from urine..... women cant, and honestly no little piece of tp is going to get urine out of that hair... (i shave) but I just cant grasp why we have hair in those areas to collect bacteria! I know usually in places such as the nose and eyelashes they are there to keep microbes out such as a filter, but nothing really needs filtered out from there... its really gross to have hair there.. I used to always be worried it would smell, especially around that time of the month... even using tampons you cant stop everything... yuck! does anyone know why this is seriously?

I have wondered that too. My best guess is pubic hair which includes beards indicated when a person is old enough to breed. In the real old days when the sooner you had babies the more descendant you had, maybe it was helpful to a society that couldn't count and needed visual signal to indicate when one has come of age.

Pubic hair serves a function. It wicks excess moisture away from the genitals, keeping the pH normal. When you shave that hair away, not only do you experience those bumps (ingrown hair) the cuts and the razor burn, you leave yourself and her wide open to drastic changes in pH and thus wide open to things like yeast infections, candidiasis, bacterial vaginitis. I urge you both to give up the practice of shaving down there, it is NOT HEALTHY.

Way back when people looked more like gorillas it was important to have hair there to protect the only parts we had to create more of us. At that point, it was 100% necessary and crucial to keep the species alive, and reproduction was our only shot. Hair was also there to keep things mostly clean and dirt-free. Also, I imagine, it's easier (and more pain-free) to take a naked run through the underbrush with a little padding on your respective nether-regions. : )

The hair is there for a purpose to believe or not to protect you! and since you shave you have a higher risk of catching something but yes its a conscious thing to think about .

It's to cushion you when your.... you know. In a boys case it stop THEM banging together, and just makes it a lot softer and easier.

Think the main reason is to help when having sex, It helps the two areas when they are rubbing together not to cause too much friction (as in the man and women's pubic region)
