How to Style REALLY weird hair???

My hair is really curly in the front and wavy in the back, but it looks horrible so usually I straighten it. Usually 10 minutes later it isn't straight anymore. I don't want to go out and buy tons of stuff to put in my hair so alternatives to this are preferred. My hair also starts to kind of split when it gets warm outside. So that it's in these weird pieces. How can I prevent it from doing this? Please help me!

hey i love hair so i will give you some cute tips on how to handle hard hair:

1) the 5 minute up do- comb all of your hair straight back from where your bangs meet the rest of your hair. then take the middle layer of the back of your hair and tease it a little to give it some volume. you will probaly want to use some hairspray to hold it in shape. then pull all of it into a somewhat loose ponytail at the base of your neck. next, take the ponytail and loosely twist it to the right. pull it up vertically and twist it around so it makes the shape of a circle on the back of your head. secure the circle with lots of bobby pins. you can use a claw clip for security but only use one and secure the rest with bobby pins to hold the circular shape. it should slightly resemble a french twist with a different "twist"

2)the messy half up do- again comb all of your hair back from where your bangs meet the rest of your hair. tease the back middle layer again too (volume on top is an automatic fixer upper). take the entire top layer of hair and pull it to gather at the back of your head in the middle. this shouldnt be too tight but a loose pretty look. then secure this half of your hair with either a claw clip of bobby pins. next you can deal with the "down" portion of hair however you want, but i would suggest curling random pieces to give it a polished yet messy look. and if it turns out not-so-polished the teased part should still give it a cute look!

On bad hair days just wear a hat; or just add a scrunchie to your hair and make a ponytail! easier idea: use a hairband
